Gen.G and Syracuse University: A Power Move for Esports Education

Gen.G, a global esports organization, and Syracuse University

are teaming up to create a powerhouse for esports education.

This multi-year partnership is set to elevate Syracuse’s esports program and provide students with unparalleled opportunities in the booming gaming industry.

A Winning Combination

This collaboration brings together two leaders in their respective fields.

Gen.G, with its extensive experience in competitive gaming and esports management,

will provide valuable insights and resources to Syracuse University’s esports communications and management bachelor’s program.

This program, offered jointly by the Newhouse School of Public Communications and Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, is already a standout in the field,

and this partnership will only enhance its reputation and impact.

Hands-On Learning and Global Experiences

The partnership will provide Syracuse students with unique hands-on learning opportunities.

Gen.G’s CEO and Assistant Director of Operations for Education will serve as development advisors to the esports degree program,

offering students direct access to industry expertise.

Additionally, Syracuse students will be able to participate in Gen.G’s Practicum Abroad program,

a three-week immersive experience at Gen.G’s headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.

This program offers students a chance to learn from esports professionals,

experience Korean esports culture, and gain a global perspective on the industry.

Campus Takeover and Case Study Competition

The partnership will also bring Gen.G’s Campus Takeover event to Syracuse University.

This free conference will feature discussions on key issues and emerging trends in esports and gaming,

providing students with valuable insights and networking opportunities.

The Syracuse event will also be the first to include an innovative business case study competition,

allowing students to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world esports challenges.

What this means for the future

This collaboration builds on Gen.G’s and Syracuse University’s shared commitment to esports education.

Gen.G has been a key driver in the field, operating the Gen.G Global Academy,

the world’s first fully integrated academic esports program in Korea.

Syracuse University has also demonstrated its dedication to esports with its comprehensive bachelor’s program and the development of a new esports hub on campus.

The Gen.G and Syracuse University partnership is a significant step forward for esports education.

It demonstrates the growing recognition of esports as a legitimate field of study and a viable career path.

This collaboration will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to succeed in the dynamic and evolving world of esports.
